Simoun- End of Marathon

So my 2 day Simoun marathon comes to an end from start to finish, if it wasn’t for CNY I might have finished earlier. A thank you to Blurry for introducing me to the series, it was truly amazing, one of the best series I’ve seen in a while. I especially liked the concept of people being able to pick their gender at the age of 17, when they are considered to be adult. This of course lead to “choice” which, i felt, is one of the major things this series displays very well. Simoun always had me on the edge of my seat , never once did i skipped the opening or the ending. The ending was very nicely done, very heart warming and leaving me a little emo-ed up, just like any good series, happy ending or not it seems a little sad to see it end.

[SPOILER UP AHEAD:END]

The final episode wrapped everything up, showing each character’s lives years after the peace treaty. Starting with Limone, she has grown, with Dominura decided to fly once again with Limone as her pair. Next was Morinas, thank god she stayed female, she and Wapourif is going to have a child, here we get to see a little of Erif too, flying away at the end of the scene. Mean while Rodoreamon and Paraietta work to help orphans, with the war starting they will be busy. The sisters, Alti and Kaimu, seems to be living a good easy life together. Yun has now inherited the role of taking care of the spring, Vyura and Floe, both male (yes… Floe is a man), living together in a farm next to the sunken Arcus Prima, with the new war starting Vyura receives a letter requesting him to going back to fight, next time they see they will be enemies. Anubituf and Guragief, now even cooler than before, standing by the tree gazing into the wreckage of the ship.

As for Aeru and Neviril, we see them dancing in the party room of Arcus Prima, with the sun setting it was a beautiful scene. So where are they? Where did the Emerald Ri Maajon take them? Well we don’t really know, except the final scene shows the scribbles in the hall way of the Arcus Prima, which Paraietta had drawn a few episode ago. Really nice series, although a bit hard to tell male from female at times, it is one i defiantly liked.
