Nodame 6 : More Milch please!

Thoughts: I’m glad this episode carried on from Chiaki’s development from the last episode, by helping Sakura. I doubt he would have done this without Nodame, which shows how important she is for Chiaki. We saw an insight into Chiaki’s past which was nice, which showed him being poor, which has made me more interested in his past. I am loving the “rock orchestra”, it was great how they played their violins up in the air like that, and I really hope they end up doing that in the final performance. On another note Stresemann (Milch) has now cemented himself as the funniest character on the show. Whenever he was on screen everything was brought to life. More Milch!

Summary: Chiaki is surprised to here that Stresemann has entered the S-Orchestra into next moth’s subscription performance. Stresemann then leaves to meet up with “company”, leaving Chiaki in charge. Moments later a girl called Sakura carrying a double bass, has fallen down entering the auditorium. Chiaki learns that she is a poor, working student. The orchestra then play, with Chiaki highlighting the faults. Afterwards everyone goes to Chiaki for help, as well as Sakura.

After being called by nearly all the orchestra for advice, Chiaki reaches home only for Nodame and Sakura to be waiting outside to be fed. Sakura then stuffs herself with the pasta made. She then tells them about having to work part-time to pay tuition fees, and having no time to practice. But Chiaki has no sympathy for her and tells her to quit. She then runs out crying.

The next day Sakura does not turn up for rehearsals, so Nodame, blaming Chiaki, tells him to go see her. They arrive at her house only to see a huge one, at first they are surprised but when they go inside they see that it is all seized property. Only Sakura’s father is home and he shows Chiaki his rare violin collection, which he doesn’t know how to play. Chiaki shouts at him telling him to sell them if he cares for his daughter. Several days later Sakura thanks Chiaki and Nodame for helping out and that after her dad sold the violins life was back to normal.

Back in the auditorium, whilst performing, the entire violin section raise their violins while playing, making Chiaki livid. This was all down to Mine trying to make this a “rock orchestra”. Chiaki then confronts Stresemann, as to why he hasn’t been there, and he finds him in a club surrounded by girls. Nodame is also there to practice her sex appeal. All the girls go to Chiaki, leaving Stresemann very angry. The next day Stresemann tells the S-Orchestra he is leaving to conduct the A-Orchestra instead, because he was mad at Chiaki for taking away the girls. Chiaki then takes over, and after another rock orchestra incident he snaps and shouts at everyone. This annoys everyone, and with a short time till the performance, it is very tense.

Preview: Chiaki looking very surprised, maybe at how well the orchestra is doing, well that’s what I think, it certainly looks like the story’s heading that way.
