Thoughts: Orlando has finally decided to pull his act together, nice to see him fighting once again. By now I’ve established that I shouldn’t watch Pumpkin Scissors for action, but rather the themes and ideas behind it as well as the plot. Everyone gets a little bit of action in this episode, even Alice’s sisters. Again justice was the main theme, I guess this is what this show is all about. My theory about Leonir being the masked silver wheel guy was wrong, but still I say he is still related to the Silver wheel. one or two episode left to go before this arc ends, leading to the end of Pumpkin Scissors.

Summary: Continuing with the duel at the mansion, the Loderia’s royal guards compliments Alice for her fearless attacks. Meanwhile there where civilians complaining about the blockade on the area around the mansion, however the soldiers let one particular car pass. In the car was the masked man from the Silver wheel, he discusses with the driver about their infiltration into Section I which was still incomplete. This leads to questions from the driver about a certain “youngster”’s action, enjoying being in danger (I presume he is referring to Leonir). His reply was, “lions learn how to hunt when they play around with their siblings and so they do not do any unnecessary hunting, however this “youngster” did not have any siblings that was equally as skilled as he was to play with”.

Back at the mansion, the Loderia royal guard reveals the slimy liquid on his blade was mud and this will create his territory. When the fighting began, Alice knew what he meant, she started hallucinating, seeing herself in a jungle. This did not affect the royal guard since he was used to it, without hesitation he attacks Alice. Barly being able to balance she was on the defensive, the royal guard steps onto her dress to restrict her movement, realizing what trouble she is in, she cuts the dress and manage to dodge the attack. Alice’s sisters were in the crowd watching, they finally seem to understand that their sister’s action is important to her, hence they will not get angry.

While everyone’s attention is on the dual, a few rebels manage to sneak up to Paul Marquis, just as they were about to swing their axes, Oreld shouts across to attempt to stop their action. Alice immediately rush towards them and manages to keep things under control. Outside was Orlando, still running away and fearing the second royal guard, he caught sight of what is happening inside the mansion, the civilians were swinging their weapons at Alice. That few moments looking through the window had stopped him from moving, and before he knew it he was hit by the royal guards flail. Inside, Alice thinks to herself, to protect her people sometimes she will have to fight against them, with this she stabs one of the civillian’s arm. The leader of the mob laughs, he claims that he knew a noble could never take sides with the commoners.

Oreld and Machs decided it was the limit, they had no choice but to get involved, as Oreld gave the order Alice’s sister stepped in. She was rather angry, she pointed out to the commoners; nobles are people as well in fact they are the ones who is doing what ever they want because they think of themselves as unfortunate commoners. Meanwhile Alice’s other sister persuaded Machs and Oreld not to leap in, since her sisters were trying their best. Still the mob was angry, one even called the eldest Malvin daughters a coward, in reply that she claims she is not a coward since the day she married a soldier she had been prepared to mourn for her husband, and her husband will do the same for her.

Orlando finally decides to flick on his lantern, he wants to protect Alice. Switching between scenes Alice says she will slash any evil, if you are guilty you will be punished, that even includes the emperor. It was the noble’s turn to get angry, such words shall not be tolerated, finally the mob understands, Alice was a noble. Going into zombie mode, Orlando points his gun towards the royal guard, at first the guard didn’t notice anything different about him, however as soon as he realized Orlando has now become fearless he started to flee. But it was too late, the gunshot from earlier had made the horses run wild, and they were headed in their direction. Orlando grabbed the guard’s foot, not letting him escape. There was a scream as the horses tramples the two bodies.The window smashes and the body of the second royal guard flies smashing onto the ground. The episode ends with a speech from Orlando, the person he met wasn’t a noble, perhaps not even a soldier but the leader of Pumpkin Scissors.
