Code Geass 23: And the wait begins.

Thoughts: V.V, what a name! So what comes next? B.B? Or may be N.N, seems to me they are just going across the keyboard. The amount of things left unanswered in this episode was so much it’s almost untrue. Especially we have to wait until summer for the rest of Code Geass, I guess it’s all about marketing. Lelouch has official gone nuts, with his monologue at the end I came to the conclusion that he has now stripped himself from any “unnecessary” emotions. I am sure many are happy about his gunshot delivering Euphemia’s death, but I sure wasn’t. Her death was surprisingly touching, with tears over flowing from her eyes even until the moment her heart beat stopped. Euphemia’s death has lead to some interesting things, of which all are unanswered. The appearance of V.V, he revealed something to Suzaku, something obviously very important. Suzaku’s conversation with Lelouch following this event sounds almost like Suzaku knows something about Lelouch he shouldn’t, may be its foreshadowing something bad? Orange-kun is back! Looks like he’s half cyborg now, reminds me a little of the guy from FMA, after suffering from defeat he returns as a half metal villain. Some might describe Nina’s face as having a “nuclear melt down”, she was modifying something on the knightmare (used to make pizza). I am interested in what she will she create, I mean we all know her knowledge about radioisotopes are exceptional. Viletta’s little problem will perhaps bring back her memory, you never know what a hammer to the head can do. There was also a very brief scene of, yet another, mysterious figure so who is he? again we have to wait for the summer to come.

Summary: The battle begins, The Order of the Black Knights charges towards the stadium wiping out any Britannians in the way. Karen manages to stumble into Euphemia, this was her perfect chance to kill her for what she did. Before she could strike, Gawin landed next to her and zero said that he would handle this. Zero got out of Gawin, coming face to face with Euphemia. Meanwhile Suzaku was desperately searching her Euphemia from the sky’s in Lancelot, when he finally finds Euphemia he zooms in. Suddenly there was a gunshot and Suzaku could see Euphemia falling to the floor. As Lelouch bids his goodbye to his sister, Suzaku dives down towards him. C.C attempts to stops him by firing the Hadron Cannon, however Lancelot manages to dodge these beams, taking Euphemia and escape onto the Avalon. On board the Avalon, Cecil and Lyold was rushing towards the elevator knowing something bad has happened. When the door opened, they were shocked to see Suzaku begging them to save Euphemia, who was half soaked in blood.

Down below, Zero was requesting the Kyoto leaders to submit to his command, he claims this was their only path to lead to survival. He also notices the girl, she was one of Suzaku’s relatives. Back on the Avalon, the operation light in the infirmary switched off. However the doctors knew Euphemia hasn’t got long left. Suzaku sat in sorrow next to Euphemia, when she was able to talk her eyes were still wrapped in orange, she asks if Suzaku was Japanese. At that moment the effect of the geass wore off. Being barely able to speak, she asks Suzaku about how did the ceremony go, Suzaku was confused. She couldn’t remember a single thing of what she had done, tears flowing down his cheek Suzaku told her a lie; the ceremony went well and all Japanese citizens are happy.

At the Stadium, Zero announces the birth of a new country, “united states of Japan”. Afterwards, Lelouch enters a room, inside was C.C. She asks if he is really going to invade Tokyo, Lelouch was certain apparently this was the best time. Suddenly his phone rang, it was Nunally. She asks if Lelouch could somehow arrange another meeting with Euphemia. Lelouch was shocked, perhaps thinking back to what his did. C.C asks Lelouch if he felt any other changes except the fact he is no longer be able to control his Geass. Lelouch didn’t think so, he suddenly started opening himself up his sorrow, his regrets and how this power had made Euphemia do something unforgivable.

Inside the conference room the Britannian generals were worried, since a large force is heading towards Tokyo. However without Cornelia’s permission, they could not decide on what to do, Cornelia has locked herself inside Euphemia’s room, her sister’s death was a huge shock to her. Viletta was on the phone to Ougi, she told him she was fine. However the moment she hang up, the apartment door was knocked down, it was an angry mob of Japanese looking to kill some Britannians. At the Ashford academy, Nunally was watching the news with some others. She was worried that a war might take place. Mean while Shirley was still thinking about Zero’s identity. Meanwhile Nina was modifying a knightmare, she claims she will avenge Euphemia. Suzaku could only ask why, why did Euphemia do what she did, suddenly he hears a voice, this voice claims it will tell him the answer.. Behind him was V.V.

When the Britannian tacticians, were about to give up the area, Cornelia appears. She was prepared to fight. At the experimental lab, Orange-kun breaks out, half of his body was now mechanical. General Darlton was flying back in towards Tokyo, it appears he wanted to see the princess for something. Flying to the front line in Gawin, Zero demands the Britannians to surrender and the attack will commence at 12. With less than 2 minutes to go, Lelouch’s mobile went off he was shocked when he realise Euphemia was calling him. When he picked up the phone, it was Suzaku. The conversation was rather awkward, especially at a moment like this. Suzaku claims he is consumed by hate at the moment and he wants to kill. Lelouch replied, hate what he wanted, Lelouch has taken this long ago, a path of no return. With Lelouch’s monologue, he welcomes Suzaku’s hate and he shall destroy everything in order to create, as Tokyo crumbles…..

I see you like me, was a little bit behind on this episode than most people D:
(stupid times zones)…. Unbelievably good episode though, great thing to wake up to XD
This was the best episode so far. I think people are skimming over a very important event. I don’t think it was that the Geass “wore off,” it seemed more like she willed it away. That would indicate that Euphie overcame the Geass. How and why?
> …seems to me they are just going across the keyboard.
OMG! You figured it out!
Indeed time Zone sucks. I actually watched it at mid night b4 i went to bed, but just didnt have time to blog.
@ J.Valdex, I believe youa re correct, she did use her last bit of strength to fite against the effect of the geass. It was my intended to put that in my blog, but i did not know how to word it >.
oh wellz… i finally caught up with cg =P lots of controversial plot development =P makes a good anime to chat about.

What I think happened was that the Geass cannot affect people who are blind. Near the end Euphie said she cannot see anything, and it is at that point that she came out of the Geass’s power
