Death Note 25: O_O

Thoughts: Ah! Well, so much happened in that episode- so many theories and questions as a result. I’m currently experiencing a weird feeling: Am I speechless or have I got too much to say? I was very surprised to see L’s childhood flashback. I enjoyed the weird dream-like quality to it as he experienced, what I can only guess was, not a very ideal childhood. The children crying, the bells- loved those scenes. There’s nothing more tragic than teary children and a mournful peal of bells. Aha, that brings me to the bells. When L’s up on the rooftop he is clearly imagining the bells, which we can tell because Light hasn’t the faintest idea what L’s talking about. Also you’d expect the weather conditions to make a physical sound quieter, but he says that the conditions that day made the bells louder. So that leads me to the conclusion that there are definitely no bells. However, they are in his mind.

That leaves me with two theories. Is he foreseeing his own death? The bells could resemble the bells of a funeral. Therefore, could he possibly be imagining his own funeral bells? And considering his intelligence and the risk on working on this case he knows it’s only a matter of time before he gets murdered. More convincingly, he says to Light that he’s sad and that it would be understood later. So does he know that allowing a prisoner to use the death note is too risky and that he would be killed off? Maybe. Or possibly due to his suspects being cleared he is unhappy and this reminds him of his childhood misery in the orphanage. Thus, he hears the bells from his childhood. I’m quite undecided on the matter. But I have to say I’m leaning towards the prior knowledge of his death.

[spoiler ahead]

Rem killing Watari surprised me. I honestly didn’t see that coming. Although, it made sense as he is the closest person to L. It was a great scene. Was Rem rushing to kill L before he died? Or did he have to kill L to die. Or did he die as a result of killing them both to save Misa. I’m not sure, but the haste Rem had when scribbling the names made it exciting to watch.

We all knew what would happen next. And so did L. But he didn’t even have enough time to finish his sentence. It was shocking, I had my heart in my mouth, I felt for L. The contest in my mind of who I want to win struggled again. On one hand I was happy Kira succeeded, but then again I was shocked, appalled by L’s untimely death. Maybe I should stop trying to pin down my allegiance, but if you ask me that’s another reason that makes Death Note a brilliant series. On a blunt note- he’s dead now so I suppose I better support Kira…perhaps.

Now, that leaves the headquarters in chaos. And who blames them. It’s such a huge blow to them losing L. But this also presents another problem. The Shinigami is against them, and there’s nothing they can do. That must be quite a chilling thought. I wouldn’t want the threat of death over my head, would you? So overall a killer episode (excuse the pun). Next week is going to be good, I can tell and I can’t wait!

LLLLLLLL………!!!! Nooooooooo……..!!! Damn you Light! I hate you with all my soul!!! Curse you Light! You and your evil deeds you must be punished!! I hope someone will hit you hard with punishment.

Sorry… I got a bit too edgy there… L was my fave character of the whole show, he shouldn’t have died… L… Why… He didn’t deserve this! Damn you to heck Light Yagami! I’ll never forgive you for this!!

My only wish now is to see how Light will be punished for his evil ways and such. He was your friend, Light how could you kill your own friend? I couldn’t live with myself if I did that but life goes on even when someone dies, life will go on it’s evinable… Sadly… D:
