As you would expect, I am really liking this. Up until now they are all individual stories which consist of 2 episode arcs showing what kind of work Li does as a contractor. In a way I think all the stories that have been told so far are a little tragic, but then again Contractors like Li are just tools used for killing and carrying out missions. The OP, Howling, by Abingdon Boys School and the ED Tsuki Akari by Rie Fu are songs which I’ve had on loop for a while, I think they really own.

Although not much has been revealed about what has happened to the world, nor have they told us, but there have been subtle hints and minor details, like how contractors cannot go near the gate and the issue with the fake sky. Hell’s Gate seems to be the cause of all this commotion we see with all the different organizations, PANDORA, Li’s organization and CIA, also it looks like the gate is the reason why Contractors exist. This is definitely getting interesting, even these short stories are brilliant and tell us about the characters, I would like something lasting more than just 2 episodes and perhaps a few cliff hangers to get the audience really going.

Not much info on Li, I personally would love to know what happened to his little sister since he does seem rather eager to find out, luckily that will be due next episode which shouldn’t be long from now. Out of all the abilities that contractors I’ve seen so far Li’s is one of the coolest, admittedly using blood to make things explode or freezing people is cool but I think Li wins it with his ability to control electricity. Correct me if I am wrong but I don’t think we’ve seen how Li compensate for using his power, I really wonder what it is.

Finally, I think the animation is really nice especially in HD, also I like how every scene in Darker than Black is toned towards green. I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s the best series this season but it’s pretty damn awesome, and the summer season is coming soon, can’t wait!
