Sola 13 (END): No more Matsuri?

So the series has come to an end, there are many words of praise out there and I think it’s well deserved. The ending itself was not much of a surprise, in the end everyone was happy and it was quite interesting to see the role reversals, like how Mana picked up photography almost echoing Yorito’s actions at the beginning of the series, Aono kicking the vending machine as well as carrying an umbrella with her all the time and of course Koyori teaching Aono origami. The ending was also a little ambiguous since the whereabouts of Matsuri and Yorito are still unknown, presumably they died but the 2 tomato juice cans in the final scene may suggest otherwise, and to be honest I was expecting to at least see Matsuri once more in the second half, but I guess I was wrong.

As mentioned already, I think Sola deserves all the good things said about it and it’s definitely one of the better shows this season. What I really liked about Sola was that in every episode there were relaxed moments mixed into it, perhaps it could even be described as “slice of life” but yet the story itself was paced pretty well, little by little the story unfolds through out the series. The action was also very well done as well, but they often left cliff hangers at the end of an episode. So overall not a bad series at all, Sola is one thats certainly worth your time.
