Thoughts: I still can’t believe how overdone and cheesey the first episode was, of course I expected demon slaying to be a bit wacky but this is on a level of its own. Especially the scene in the theatre as well as many of Dante’s “cool” comments; “Next time you open up a store, at least have a strawberry sundae ready.”. The cheeseyness aside, the animation is pretty awesome and flashy however after the first 2 or 3 episodes I started to see a dip in quality, not sure if there is actually any plot to this but right now, the most recent episode feels very much like a filler.

I haven’t played any of the games so I don’t really know where this is heading, but I guess it’s along the lines of busting some demon king’s ass. We don’t know much about Dante except that his parents were a human and a demon and he is a very carefree man with a lot of debts. Hopefully we will see some good fights later on, since at the moment Dante is untouchable.

Right now there isn’t much of a plot, so I do hope for one in the near future, although I do remember the driver in the 1st episode mentioning about 4 strong demons causing havoc somewhere, perhaps that could be related. Admittedly the cheeseyness and Dante’s remarks does add a little flavor to the show, it has been toned down a little since the beginning so may be it will slowly disappear. There was a mystery man in episode 5, I wonder who he is.

Well this anime is based on a video game that is purely about beating demon shit. So yeah, I doubt there’s going to be a plot.

DMC is supposed to be cheesy… come on, this is the franchise where the fan laugh over dante’s ‘I should have been the one to fill your heart with light’ moment…

Fights are cool in a kicking ass sort of way which captured the coolness of the games, but I don’t see what it is doing direction-wise for the plot. It seems disconnected to me with just some random people added in…

The introduction of Patty however was purely the anime, and I greatly disliked it. I don’t like her type of character… D:

All in all, I say it is a good watch though but nothing epic.
