I like short manga like this, another one of Sasa’s recommendation. Since one shot manga like these tend to leave me thinking a lot about it afterwards. Anyways, Duds hunt is one Tetsuya Tsutsui’s creation, the story starts off with a guy that haven’t had much education and is struggling to keep his job. He often stress to his online friend, he goes by the name “K-boy”. One day after getting scold at again by his boss, his online buddy suggests he play this game called duds hunt. Apparently this can earn him lots of money. This game involves stealing other people’s marker to gain money, the more u take the more money you get, of course violence is part of it.

I don’t know why, but this reminds me of Battle Royale, I mean apart from the killing there aren’t that much in common. The idea itself is pretty cool, since there are tactics to employ against different types of player, which is all explained. There are fair a bit of violence involved, which probably does add to the excitement, the art is also very good which is always a plus, I liked how everything ties in at the end as well. Having said that, it’s still a really short manga, so don’t expect anything too deep or mind twisting. Definitely a good one if you got some time to burn.
