Heroic Age 24: The Argonaut has fallen…
Posted in Anime, Heroic Age on Sep 20th, 2007 By Runningkid

Summary:After escaping from the “nothingness”, the four nodos boarded Peato Ou’s ship. Lekti suddenly realised that a path to Elysion has been found. The gap that was opened by the nodos also allowed all the human ships to escape, this included the Atalantis and Meleagros’s ship. Meanwhile, Argonaut warped out and started to head towards Elysion. Suddenly the ship’s speed was decreasing and lightning strikes were hitting the ship from all directions. Deianeira claimed that this was a test, she also sent plans to overcome to test through the psychic line. After inspecting the plan, the crew was shocked, since it involved firing the main cannon and at that moment the ship was in no condition to do so.
However, Captain Moebeed urges the crew to follow the plan since the princess has never requested anyone to use a weapon so at a time like this they should believe in her. Sending out the mechas to deploy shields and protecting the delicate parts of the ship, the Argonaut prepares to the main cannon. Every thing was ready. Pii, the robot, transforms into a gun which the captain used to aim the main cannon. Upon firing, a new star way was born and Elysion revealed itself.

The planet was protected by shields, same as the ones the Silver Tribe used. Apparently this was the origin of the technology. Suddenly the shields started repositioning itself, opening a gap, it was almost as if the planet was welcoming them. Taking a squadron of escorts, Deianeira enters Elysion in her shuttle. Landing in the middle of an alter-like area, they realised the atmosphere has changed itself so it was okay for them to disembark without a space suit. Deianeira insisted that she should go explore on her own. Walking a few meters away from the shuttle, she attempts to read the planet’s memory. Suddenly Rome Ro appears, he claims that this is all an illusion and the truth was that the golden tribe feared that their technology will be stolen. He must destroy Elysion as the planet itself is a reminder that the golden tribe “betrayed” them.
In space, just outside Elysion a silver tribe ship warped out. Argonaut was defenseless, the attack units are out with Deianeira and the shield has still not been restored from the “test”. The two ships crashed together, this resulted in the Argonaut crashing into the planet, Argonaut has fallen. Out of the explosion of the silver tribe ship, Yuti transforms into Cerebus. Her sorrow has forced her into mental chaos, all she seek now is destruction. Meanwhile on the planet Rome Ro was causing destruction, the human mechas were no match for him. As he fires an attack towards Deianeira’s shuttle, Belcross appears to block the attack.

Thoughts: What I like about Heroic Age is that new weapons are continuously brought into the series. Some times it’s a new type of bug, other times it’s gravity beams and this time it’s Argonaut’s main cannon. Although I have to say Pii’s transformation was a little lame. Another thing I really liked in this episode was Elysion, in comparison to the Komodos (silver tribe’s home planet) it wa heaven. The crystalised landscape reminded me of the Eden manga, except they aren’t made from humans ^^;.

One thing really did ruin the episode for me, the survival of Atalantis and Meleargros. Even though they haven’t shown them being alive and well but the ship looked fine. Oh well, I guess deep inside I knew some they weren’t really dead. Not much of Age, which is a shame since his naivety never fails to amuse me, like how he boarded Peato Ou’s ship without any sense of hostility or even tried defending himself for that matter.

I am a bit confused about Yuti going into mental chaos, since I’ve always thought that it was only possible when two or more nodos participate in a fight. Two more episode until the end, hopefully they will explain a bit more about the golden tribe as well as how they will fish the nodos out of their contracts. Not a bad episode at all, but I do find it funny that the ending of this week is almost the same as last weeks.
Aw…. after reading your summary, it felt short >_>; I need to watch it myself. It also does seem like the last episode… meh, but still worth watching to me. =P
I don’t want anyone to die now >’:! (I don’t mind people from the silver tribe though xD*
The Argonaut’s main cannon was a huge surprise to me!!! I mean, the transformation was great, but i didn’t think the main cannon was as hidden as they presented it. A very good design for the human’s engineers. The fact that they were creating the starway to Elysion by firing the cannon (although they just were re-discovering it) was a little obvious because of the expression of Deianeira before the transformation.
Elysion is beautiful!!! With a great protection of course, worthy of the Golden Tribe. That reinforces Deianeira’s idea that the Golden Tribe’s powers are in that planet. I thought Rome Ro could have changed his mind when Deianeira found Elysion, but for him, the existence of this planet was only a reminder of the Golden Tribe’s betrayal towards the Silver Tribe… But being more precise, the Golden Tribe’s betrayal TOWARDS Rome Ro. He knew long ago that planet existed, but he didn’t knew the way to get there. That was the secret he was protecting and now, that the starway exists again, he wants Yuti to destroy it and all because one statement of Yuti’s contract is “If other than the Silver Tribe get the Golden Tribe’s power, you must destroy that power”.
I understand Yuti’s mental chaos because her emotional state affected Cerberus. Like Age said one epidose before: “Age and the others exist to make Bellcross and the others know what heart is” (i used the word “heart” in place of “spirit” because you have feelings with heart, not with the spirits; anyway, the fansubbers will have their reasons to put it as “spirit”). If you lose someone precious to you and you can’t relieve your feelings in anyway, would not be your mind in chaos? Again, poor Yuti because that bastard (Rome Ro), from the beggining, planned to use her in mental chaos because Nodoss are more powerful in that state than normally. I think Neruneya’s will help Cerberus to calm down, but we’ll see what happens in the next episode. However, the epic battle between the nodoss will come next episode. All of them will fulfill their contracts by saving Yuti (of course, of Rome Ro) who only wants revenge over the ones the Golden Tribe selected to find what he considers his powers. I insist he MUST die!!! Come on Bellcross!!!! Give him a very hard punch now that you have him right in front of you!!!
I almost cry when I saw little B-Navi dead… So adorable and to have that end. Until the last moment, he protected humans that were inside the Argonaut. I think it was because of his programation (he stated that he was programmed to preserve humankind in the first episode). Deianeira’s brothers are back…. For me, a bad thing because i feel they will cause trouble again. Maybe they won’t have time to, but for Deianeira that will be good news that her brothers and all the fleet are back to this universe.
I can’t wait to see the last 2 episodes!!!!
Sorry if someone feels spoiled.
Greetings from Mexico!!!
B-Navi’s death was tragic T___T. But I am sure they will fix him up some how ^^;. I must agree, Romero MUST die.
Aww I really want to get my hands on this series now, the effects look so promising, I can just imagine all the lazer beams and missiles firing in all directions. However I do prefer the “classic” Gundam mechas featured in Gundam Seed.
