Summary: Purome Ou claims that the golden tribe did not abandon them, and now with the door, it’s time for them to reply to the golden tribe. Meanwhile the Argonaut is repairing itself, in the command room Bii was once again moving. Surprisingly, Peato Ou was also there. He was helping with the repairs, with ease he began to fix the ship. Staring into the giant “door” hovering above the planet, Rome Ro stood still, he did not move nor reply to any one. Karukinus told Yuti it’s best to leave him alone.
Lolaus, Mayl, Tayl as well as the rest of the crew were placing flowers where Belcross was last spotted. Even though Age is no where to be found, they strongly believed that he was still alive beyond the gate. The four silver tribe nodos agreed and for their own reason they will go through the gate. Soon the Argonaut was repaired, at the throne room the silver tribes and the humans had a meeting. Peato Ou proposed that they should be traveling partners in order to explore beyond the gate, however Deianeira rejected the proposal. She wish for the human race to have more knowledge and understanding before moving on, since right now, even with the answer right in front of them they are clueless. But she believed eventually the outer space will be reached as the star way grew and nodos are the vessel to this power. Purome Ou claims that they will not need to worry about the gate being closed forever, so in order to help them gain more knowledge and open the door again in the future, the silver tribe will give the humans what the golden tribe had left them. The power to interact with the bronze tribe and the hedron shield. She also hopes that with this Deianeria can lead those who have chosen to stay and not go through the gate. Deianeira accepts the gift.

The Argonaut launched into space, after bidding their good byes, the silver tribe headed into the gate. After their departure the gate crumbled back into the glass balls that it was made from and once again the planet was coated with them. From now on Deianeira will help bring the power embedded on Elysion to other tribes. She decides to restore Oron, golden tribe’s last stop before they left the galaxy.
Four years later.
Aneesha and Lolaus flies down onto Earth. Lolaus claimed that he has finally fulfilled his promise. Teasing each other, they returned to the ship. Meanwhile Tayl and Mayl were keeping peace on Mars, they seem to have completely control of the hedron shields. Onboard the ship Nival was the Supreme Commander, apparently she has been promoted by Queen Deianeira not long ago. They mention about how Mayl and Tayl are perfect for the job of peace keeping since they can use the Hedron shields very well, apparently not many people are able to grasp the full potential of this technology yet.

The planet Oron has finally been restored. It’s now filled with life, trees, planets and even the population of Fuuts have increased. Soon Deianeira will have to leave the planet, since the restoration has been completed. Alone, walking along the beach, Deianeira said her goodbye to the planet. She spoke of a certain person that she really wished was here right now. Suddenly a major rift was detected heading towards the planet, it was going to be a direct collision! From a far, glass-like beads flowed towards Oron. As they gathered above the planet, they began to construct a large ring, the very same ring that acted as a “door” four yeas ago. With the gate right in front of her, Deianeira realised, just like Elysion, Oron also possessed a door. After a sudden flash, Age appeared. Deianeira dashed forward into the ocean, extending her arm and tears flowing from her eyes. With their reunion, Heroic Age has come to an end.

Thoughts: I thought this episode was wonderful, although some of the explanation was still a little confusing, it was something that did a good job as an ending. I was surprised that Age only appeared in two scenes and one of which you can’t really even see him properly. Every thing was wrapped up nicely, and seeing how the humans grew to replace the silver tribe was pretty cool. Almost everyone changed their hair styles, Deianeira looked so ugly after the four years time skip! I am glad the final scene was drawn so she was back to her old self.

It was a shame that there were nothing on what was actually on the other side of the door or what happened to the silver tribe. But then again I am glad they spent a decent proportion of the episode onto after the time skip, which resulted in a pretty touching ending. Over all I think the episode did a great job at ending the series, could have explained a little bit more about the golden tribe, etc or rather if I understood it a little better. The animation as well, deserves complements, just look at the final minute focused on Oron, in terms of quality its top notch. The ending song has always been on my play list and it was used very well to complement the animation in the last scene.
Series Overview: Heroic Age has been rather fun to watch, while it isn’t the best series ever, I still enjoyed it. To begin with Heroic Age was exciting and the ideas were fresh, the bugs and mechas were cool (although some say it’s just like Starcraft). However, as the series progressed it got a little repetitive, always relying on the Belcross’ power to escape. So there were a few dull episodes of the series where everything is predictable. Soon, though, the story really picked up when the Argonaut finally returns to the human planet. Politics started to kick in and they decide to lunch a full scale war. From there through to the end, the shows been fairly exciting with some twists and turns. What I didn’t like, or perhaps didn’t fully understand was all the talk about the contracts the nodos are bounded to. It was supposed to be of major significance, however even near the end it was still unclear.

Of course, we can’t have Heroic Age without Deianeira. There were some developments between characters, but I really wished that we got to know Age a little better. Some characters were awesome, like Deianeria, Mayl, Tayl, where as some are just idiots which annoys the crap out of you, Meleargos and Atalantis. One thing I really liked about the show is that they are always throwing in new weapons and units. Not really significant to the story, but like the Pearl Core or some of the Bronze Tribe bugs, they are really quite cool.
So over all, Heroic Age isn’t bad, it has it’s ups and downs. Some of the explanation can get a little confusing, but the large scale battles and epic wars were exciting to see. At one point I thought that the story will really screw up since the humans had one nodos, Belcross, and the silver tribe had four as well as the bronze tribe. Surprisingly it turned out alright. Again, probably not the best series but not really that bad either. This is one I would recommend, especially if you are looking for lots of space ships blasting lasers at each other.
P.S – SHANA II IS OUT! The OP is win! Pure win!
One thing confuses me at the end though, did Deianeira go through the gate with Age?
I really liked the episode, the last few minutes was touching!
Although just a little disappointment with some confusion left behind - could have done a better ending but still was awesomeness~ I would really like to know what exactly happened to the Silver Tribe after going through the door + a little explanation of why the door disappeared? Big plus on if the door in Oron was Age “coming back” or “Age & Deianeira going through the door leaving everyone else behind” - I’m pretty convinced what you said earlier Runnie. I do hope Age stayed with Deianeira and in Oron leading the reason the door disappeared >_>;… hope! Overall, I still gave it a 10/10 on MAL - I loved it from start to finish, I liked the epic battles it had, the music fit very well on every scene(need to start hunting for the OST), great series :D!
I think Age actually came back together with Deianeira. I remember there’s a dialog saying that Elsyon was the first planet in the Golden Tribe’s journey and Oron was the last…. or something like that. So IMHO, the door at Elsyon was the entry door and the exit was the one in Oron. Well it maybe just my creative imagination since I want Age and Deaineira to get together. :D:D
Well, You were right about Elysion being the origin and Oron being the final stop before the golden tribe left the galaxy. Although I don’t think whether Deianeira went through the gate with age is of much significance. For the the whole episode was pretty much dedicated to the build up of their reunion, and at the end they finally met each other (and hopefully found happiness^^;)
But if I had to say, I would think that Age has come back for her rather than them going through the gate. Since Deianeira is still the queen with many duties, doubt she will just leave like that, even for Age.
Is Heroic Age to be Continued?
I wish they expanded more on Age X Deianeira during the story. I think an episode in the middle of the series that showcased the 2 together would have given the last scene more impact.
Wonderful anime, great ending. I woas wondering if they went throught the gate together. but Age has come back to Deiaeria as she has created his door to get back. and seeing as he still is the key to the gates. he will be needed when the iron tribe are ready to advance… till then P-a-i-nt?
Most underrated series or what?
I started watching this because i wanted some space drama, was a little reluctant because of the review score on anidb, but damn, this was awesome.
I agree with Banpei, that they should have focused a little more on AgeXDeianeira troughout the story, we should also have seen more of them together before the show ended, still the ending was pretty touching. There were also pretty little character development on Age, he pretty much stays the same throughout the whole series, which was a little irritating, since i expected him to become more mature (mostly in his way of speaking).
Anyways, I give this show a 9/10, for the awesome music/animation and a compelling story.
Thanks for the comment, it’s been a long time since i’ve watched the series!
But yeah, the ending was definitely touching, that song, Azurite, really brought the whole scene together.
As for the development, I think by the end of the series their relationship was pretty solid even though we didn’t see much interaction between them. It’s a shame that we didn’t really get to see how Age turned out at the end, we only got a glimpse of him.
Although the series may be slightly underrated i wouldn’t go as far as giving it a 9/10. Simply because I think the idea of the contracts and their attempts in explaining them sucked. But then again, that’s just me.
