This isn’t Gunslinger Girl.

Well, that isn’t quite true but still I am shocked to see how different this has turned out. Reading around I am sure you will find a lot of posts pointing out the differences. But it’s true, this will take some time to get used to. The animation is cheap, at first I didn’t even recognise José but I guess what annoyed me the most was that the fact Henrietta’s inability to express her love for José isn’t as apparent, hence not as adorable.

Like the first season, this episode had some action in it as well as a little bit on Henrietta and her feelings towards José. However it didn’t feel quite right, with the action a little bit too cheesy (especially the music) and Henrietta not being the Henrietta I remember her to be. I haven’t read the manga so I don’t know if there is going to be a plot or be like the first season where each episode is independent yet revolve around the same characters. Even though the original series didn’t have much of a plot, I think it got away with it because the feelings were so well conveyed in each episode. If Gunslinger Girl Il Teatrino were to do that, judging on this episode, it’s not going to work. So, I can only pray that it would get better as ~I wait for the second episode.

Despite everything else being disappointing, I really liked the OP and ED. The opening had quite a unique execution, with the photos blending into each other.

    Yeeees !
(If there’s mistakes on writing it is because I’m french…)

I try to understand what you’ve written and I agree with you. I difficultly (Does this word exist ? ^^) recognize Gunslinger Girl by viewing this “second season”. Very poor animation level and characters who don’t correspond to the original… I’m waiting for the next episode and I’ll see…

Archange6131, your English is fine, at least it’s understandable.

With a new cast and everything, I did expect a few changes but this was just too much xD. Aida Yutaka, the creator of Gunslinger Girl, is supposed to be fully involved in the production, so perhaps this is the way the series is “meant” to be. But still, I don’t like it and I am not the only one.

Well I wonder, I haven’t watched S1 first so perhaps I should watch the second season first… but wait, that wouldn’t make much sense wouldn’t it x___x

Been postponing it for at least 3 years, I should get it on soon T_T

  6. [...] Patricia was win, most probably due to Noto Mamiko being the voice behind the character. For a moment I really thought she would die, simply because Section II would kill just about anyone. Of course, Rico pointing her Snayperskaya Vintovka Dragunova sniper did scare me as well. It would have been a shame if she did die, but I guess that’s it for Marco and Patricia since he did literally tell her to bugger off. Last season Noto-sama voiced Else, whom had a really cold personality, kind of weird that she voiced 2 completely different characters in the same series. Ops, nearly forgot. This is not Gunslinger Girl. [...]
